About the Role

Join KlusAI as our next Hyper Virtualization Lead Engineer. This is a key role within our hosting and virtualization services, requiring master/lead-level expertise in Hyper-V environments and deep experience with the HPE enterprise hardware ecosystem (Synergy, ProLiant, OneView).

In this role, you will combine architectural leadership with hands-on technical escalation, managing enterprise-grade infrastructure while ensuring automation, security hardening, and high performance. You will also mentor and provide guidance across projects, collaborating with a diverse, multinational team.

This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge virtualization platforms, shape infrastructure strategy, and drive operational excellence in a dynamic hosting environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design and manage the Hyper-V platform (HA, performance, security, scalability)
  • Lead platform expansions, migrations, and modernizations
  • Define and enforce standards, baselines, and hardening processes
  • Capacity & performance management (CPU/NUMA, RAM, storage, network)
  • Escalation troubleshooting and advanced problem solving
  • Automation & integration (PowerShell, DSC, APIs, CI/CD processes)
  • Security: hardening, network segmentation, RBAC, auditability
  • Collaborate with management, architecture teams, operations, and clients
  • Mentor and coach engineers, review changes and runbooks

What We're Looking For

  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, S2D, CSV, and Live Migration
  • Strong VMware ESXi/vCenter skills for migration and interoperability scenarios
  • Solid knowledge in network design (L2/L3, VLAN segmentation, routing, LACP/MLAG, MTU/jumbo frames)
  • Deep understanding of storage architectures (SAN/NVMe-oF/iSCSI/SMB3, caches, queue depth, MPIO tuning)
  • Monitoring/observability (PRTG/SCOM/Elastic, event correlations, SLO/SLI definition)
  • Security expertise (hardening, secure boot, TPM, iLO access policies, certificate management)
  • PowerShell excellence with module design, idempotency, error handling, and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced German & English skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hybrid scenarios (Azure Arc, Azure Migrate, MABS/MARS, Site Recovery)
  • Automation with HPE OneView / Redfish, Python, API integration into CMDB/ITSM
  • Capacity & cost modeling (licenses, dedupe/compression, host/storage tiers)
  • Compliance / auditing (ISO 27001, BSI-like)
